Prayer Needs!~

Dear Journal,

A lot has been going on lately.  First of all, Sonya sent me some beautiful Autumn graphics.  Thanks, Sonya!  Sugar told me about her graphic journal and said I could snag them.  Thanks, Sugar!

My family has some prayer needs, please see below and pray accordingly:

My daughter has been out of school for two days with chest pains and having trouble breathing.  She has MVP and asthma.  It is so hard to watch someone you love so much, especially as young as she is, struggle to breathe and know she is in pain and there is nothing you can do about it; however, I have been a Christian since I was 10 years old and I have learned that prayers can work wonders, so I would really appreciate prayers for her.  This is homecoming week and the game is tomorrow night (we need a miracle here too for the football team) and she wants to go.  She also has plans to attend the homecoming dance and already has her outfit planned out, so I pray she is better by tomorrow.

My Mom has had iriitis (inflammation of the iris) in her eyes for a while now.  Her doc said she had a really bad case of it.  He prescribed drops for her.  He told her if the drops didn't work, she would have to have laser surgery, and if that didn't work, corneal transplants!  The drops had made her eyes much better.  Her doc even said she had received a miracle, but she went back for a checkup and he told her they were worsening again and prescribed more drops.  Please keep my Mom in your prayers as well.

Day-before-yesterday, my husband cut his thumb with a saw blade.  It wasn't near as bad as some past incidents, but it did bleed and was painful, then yesterday, a 6 x 6 got dropped on his foot smashing his great toe up pretty good.  He is hobbling around and has been in a great deal of pain.  We have no insurance, so he opted not to have it x-rayed.

I am still believing that a job with benefits and decent wages is going to come along for him, even if it means we have to relocate.  I would be so grateful if you would remember these needs in your prayers.  Please send any requests you might have as well.  They will be prayed for!~

Blessings!~

Susan

P.S.  I do realize all of my friends/family are not Christians and for those of you who are not, please hold good thoughts for my loved ones.  Thanks in advance to all of you!~

It's Here! It's Here!

I am soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo happy!  Autumn has finally arrived!  Woo Hoo!  Now I can use all my pretty Autumn graphics.  If you have some you would like to share, feel free!  I am no longer in a graphics group.  Don't really have the time.  ::sigh::  Life keeps me busy.

Hubby is totally out of work now.  Hoping and praying something comes through for him real soon either in industrial maintenance or construction.  He has been in the construction field for 30+ years and can do anything in it, including driving heavy equipment.  He has 5 years experience in industrial maintenance, so please pray and/or hold good thoughts.  Did I mention we are willing to relocate?

Thanks, Sonya for this cool graphic!~

Hope you all are enjoying the first day of Autumn!  I have rested for the most part, as I worked 3rd shift the last couple of nights.

Fall is here!  Fall is here!  Tra la la la la la la la la  ::susan sings and dances around happily::

Have a most wonderful Autumn week!~

It could have been much worse!~

It was like this:

I was on the way to pick C up from school.  I was only doing 35-40 MPH because it was raining very hard.  Truck fishtailed, then started spinning with me.  Spun around several times and slid into grass.  Slung me up on embankment right before you get to the dumpster near the high school.  I swear the way the truck slammed into bank, I thought it had dented the whole driver's side.  It is a small wonder the truck did not flip.  That was a pretty steep bank.  I drove truck back onto road and stopped at dumpster where I could pull way off the road and walk around the truck to safely survey the damage. Thankfully only minor damage to truck.  Small dent in bumper and took some paint off above tail light on driver's side. I think the tail gate has a place on it, too. I was right at the school, but instead of going on to school to get C, I was so shaken, I drove slowly back home and got hubby to drive me in the Silverado.  It has much better tires.  Did not want to chance that again with Carrie in the vehicle.  Thank God it was not any worse and I am okay!~

We got burglarized again.  :-( Guess they came back to get what they did not finish getting last time.  Thankfully, we had gotten most of what was left after we discovered the last burglary.  Still not exactly sure what all was taken, but this time around, we know they got all three of our bicycles and our Sears Craftsman lawnmower.  The first time around, they got $2000-3000 worth of tools and camping equipment; however, I have a grateful and thankful heart.  I am grateful that I still have what is most important to me, my family and my friends.  I am so blessed and I know it.

Have a wonderful week and BE SAFE!~

Montgomery, AL

Dear Journal,

On Sunday, we had an appointment in Montgomery to find out about getting financial aid for our daughter's college.  The appointment was at the Embassy Suites in Montgomery Alabama.

Sorry I couldn't get a better pic.  I took it as we were driving away.  Anyway, Montgomery is the capital of Alabama, so I had my Hubby drive by so I could get a pic of the capitol building. If we had had time to stop, I could have gotten a picture of the star on the capital steps where Jefferson Davis stood while being inaugurated as President of the confederate states in 1886.  We had to get back home because I was scheduled to work that evening.

It was a nice little outing.  I wish we had had more time to spend getting some more photos.  Montgomery has a rich history and some beautiful architecture.  Maybe we can go back around Christmastime and get some pics then.  They always decorate the capitol for Christmas.  Speaking of Christmas, a couple of Christmases ago, we went to a Christmas party, I am pretty sure I wrote about it in my journal.  The party was at Regions Bank in Montgomery.  I snagged a pic of it, again taken from the car as we were riding, so it is not that great, but you can see what an impressive building it is, and our party was up on one of the floors, probably about midway, so it gave a grand view of the city at night.

Regions Bank

Another name for Montgomery is Monkeytown.  I have vaguely researched the origins of that nickname and, it is as I feared, it is called that by redneck racists because of the high population of African-Americans.  I hate phraseslike that which stereotype people.

Anyway, I have posted some pics of the things we saw while in Montgomery.  I wish we had had the time to go to the River Walk by the Alabama River.  Ahh well...maybe next time!  Such is the story of my life.  ::sigh::

Will write more as I have time, journal.

What "Big Bird" really is!~

"Big Bird" in the daylight, lol (see last entry to understand this one).

For those of you who guessed satellite dish, you guessed correctly.  What I cannot get over is the fact that I fell for it being a big bird in the dark at least temporarily, even after as many times as I have walked by that thing during the day walking my dog!  In all fairness to my hubby, son, and myself, we all wear or need glasses, literally!~  ;-)

Hope I brightened your day with my tale!~

Blessings!~
