My baby girl came home today! She has been in Greenville, S.C. visiting her best friend. I met her best friend's mother on the other side of Atlanta (about halfway for both of us). Hubby and son were with me. We picked the girls up and headed to Stone Mountain Park in Georgia. It is not even officially summer yet and it was as hot as Hades! We only got out once because the heat was so unbearable. The rest of the time we chose to view everything from the comfort of the truck with the AC wide open! We didn't get to do everything, as time was of the essence because I had to be back home in time to work tonight. We do plan to go back again, perhaps after the weather gets cooler in Autumn.
Coke anyone? The Coca-Cola plant is in Atlanta. Did you know that? I have heard it is a very interesting place to tour.

Two very tired best friends. It was a long day for them because they came in all the way from Greenville.
There is an etching in the side of Stone Mountain I wanted to get a picture of. It depicts three Confederate heroes of the Civil War, President Jefferson Davis, General Robert E. Lee and General Thomas J. "Stonewall" Jackson. For more info, go here:
My son took pics also. He is going to upload them and email them to me. I will post some of those as soon as I get them. His camera is much newer than mine, so I am sure his photos turned out much better.
Blessings!~
Susan

Very beautiful area. I love the pictures. It looks like a fun place to tour. I would love to go to the coca cola plant. Too bad you couldnt stay longer. The girls definately seem tired. Traveling does that to me instantly. I hope your shoulders are feeling better tonight.
Hugs,
Ann
I know it will mean a lot to you having your daughter home for awhile. Glad you all were able to get out and have an enjoyable time together, despite the heat. ;o) - B arbara
Aww that last picture was just adorable. Reminds me of me and my best friend when we were in high school. Now we both have three kids and NO time to do anything :( Tell them to enjoy their teen years while they can! I loved all your pictures! For some reason I was not getting alerts from you and this one showed up...when I looked back there were SEVERAL of your entries I did not even see! I will have to go back and check them out! Have a great day today.
Your pictures are great. I loved that covered bridge and the grist mill and water wheel. Have a good Sunday. Helen
I enjoyed your photos! I've never been to Stone Mountain before but always wanted to; the pics are so pretty!
I've visited the coca-cola plant before, it's a pretty neat place to visit.
Your daughter and her best friend are so cute! Reminds me of the years my bff and I were their age; we did everything together. Those are the good times! =)

I enjoyed the photos and the tour from the comfort of my home (minus any heat).
I'd have called that a hill not a mountain myself ... LOL, one person's mountain another persons hill. :-)
Thanks for sending out the alerts, hopefully they get this straightened out soon. I'm getting alerts for two journals and that's it!

Susan I loved your pictures the covered bridge ~ could just imagine those robbers hiding in the rafters waiting for unsuspecting travellers ~ then robbing them ~ CJ and Ally look worn out sitting in the back of the car ~ but I bet they had a lot of fun together ~ Ally x

Stone Mountain is great. I've been there once with the MIL and it is a very fun place to be. Looks like the girls had a great time, and got tuckered out from all the excitement.
