It was my weekend to work again. I worked a 10.5 hour day on Saturday at the hospital. I came home and worked another hour on hospital stuff after I ate something. I worked again on Sunday, but at least it was a much shorter day, only 5.5 hours. Too bad I had to work on my son's birthday yesterday. I had planned to have a BBQ and bake him a cake in his honor. He likes lemon cake. I still plan to do that, only it will be this coming up weekend. I am taking four days off. We are talking about going to Florida, but after Amy's entry about the heat there, I am thinking maybe somewhere else, lol.
I need some time away from all the stress of life. I do have one silver lining. We got the news from the insurance company that they will honor the claim on my son's car that my niece totalled. The car was worth $6700. After the loan is paid off, my son will still get a check for $2600. He is talking about taking us to Florida and paying for it because he knows we all need a vacation. Is that a sweet young man or what?
He needs to save it for a down payment on another vehicle.
There is a dark side to all of this too. They will cancel my son's insurance and add him back to ours automatically because we all live in the same house, which will make our insurance go up. I can barely afford it now.
My daughter and I go tomorrow to get the results of the bloodwork done recently on us. They are checking her for mitral valve prolapse and me for Lupus, among other things. I would be very surprised if it came back positive for Lupus. I think if it shows anything, it is going to be some type of arthritis, as it runs on both sides of my family. I would appreciate prayers and good thoughts on this.
We were caught up for a bit today at work, so I had time to jump on and make an entry. Now I need to check back and see if I have work again.

Good luck on you and your daughter's test results. I pray that everything will turn out ok. I agree that FL would be a hot place to vacation. I told my son that as he and his wife will be going there around the 17th of this month. He reminded me that breezes are always blowing off the ocean. LOL. Helen

oh Susan; that's great about the insurance even though it will mean your premiums will go up. I think getting away will be a wonderful thing for all of you; hoping you can find some place to go that is cool and relaxing.

So glad to hear the insurance will cover the damages but not so good news about premium increase. I sure do know you deserve a vacation and yes it is so blasted hot down here that unless you are near a pool which is almost everywhere down here I don't think it will be all that great for you. The heat in itself is exhausting down here. Hugs,
