Well, its official. I am 47 years old today!~
Wow does time fly by anymore! I got up around 8:00 this morning. I thought I deserved to sleep in since it is my birthday. :-) I had to type an invoice for my husband's trim business so he can get paid. I ran that by to him on my way to the hospital. I got called in for a meeting today with our new transcription supervisor. I always feel like I am being called into the principal's office when I am called in like that since I work from home. The meeting went well. I really like her. At the end of the meeting, I was informed that I had been randomly selected for drug testing. Yea me!!!!
I have been on prescription drugs for my tendonitis, faciitis, stress, memory problems and I had to try to remember all of them to list on a form to turn into our lab. I probably failed miserably on remembering them, but if something shows up in my system that is not on there, they do give me a chance to bring in any prescriptions and OTC meds I have onhand.
Since I work for a hospital, they are very strict on that sort of thing. I cannot even have extra Ibuprofen in my system and God forbid I have a prescription drug that I cannot account for.
Funny thing is, I look like an IV drug user right now because I had blood drawn last Friday at the doc's office and have a nasty dark purple bruise on my arm from that. Of course, they could call my doc's office to verify that if they had any question about it.
Well, since I didn't know I was gonna randomly be tested, I had "used the facilities" right before the meeting. When I went to the lab to try to "pee in the cup" I probably only peed 2 mm where they probably needed at least 10 for the test. So, what did I have to do you ask?
They poured that out. They sent me back to the waiting room to drink three glasses of water "to help me go."
I had to be in the basement of the hospital by noon to get my TB test. They do all that in your birth month. It was 10:50 am when I got to the lab. After drinking the three cups of water, by 11:45, I still didn't feel like I had to go. They told me that was my last chance. Last chance for what? What did that mean? I was fired if I couldn't go in the cup? Sheesh!~
I prayed before I went back in the bathroom that God would help me be able to fill the stupid cup enough to suit them. I did. Yea me!
I then had to sign my life away on some forms and made my way to the basement of the hospital to sign my life away again on some more forms and the nurse stuck me for the TB test. No biggie. I have no problem with needles.
I went back through radiology to say hi to some of my favorite coworkers and the docs. I always enjoy that.
Now I am back home and about to start work. I plan to work until about 5:00 PM and then my Mom is taking me and the rest of our family out for a birthday dinner at CiCi's Pizza. Imagine actually getting to celebrate my birthday ON my birthday. That doesn't happen very often. Tomorrow is my sister's 45th birthday, so she and her family will be there too, along with my cousin and her family. My son's birthday is Sunday. I had planned a barbecue for him, but now I just found out it is my weekend to work. Dang it!
Anywho, when dinner tonite is all said and done, then I will have to come back home and finish up any typing that is left to do and hopefully I can then go to bed!!!!!!!! ;-P
Hope all of you are having a nice day. It is hot as hades here!~
Blessings!~

Happy Birthday Susan. Maybe you could call your drug store and get a print out of the meds you have been using lately. Then that will jog your memory as to what each one was used for. Good luck to you. Hope you and your family have a great time at your birthday gathering. Helen
