Dear Journal,
May was a very busy month for us. It started with a get-together at Callaway Gardens in Georgia. My employer hosted it for all of the employees. It was an all day picnic and we got to get in for free and enjoy most of what Callaway Gardens offered. My daughter took a cousin so she would have someone to hang out with. She and her cousin enjoyed the beach while Hubby and I walked the nature trails. I bet we walked 4 miles that day! WHEW! Wouldn't you know my camera batteries were dead. ::sigh:: I was sooooooooooo upset not to get photos. They need a gift shop there where you can purchase batteries for just such instances. I can put the link to Callaway Gardens, so you can read about it for yourself. It is a beautiful place and lots of fun to visit. To find out more, go to:

On May 26th, my niece who has always been very special to me got married. She is very special to me in that she is my Hubby's twin brother's daughter and I kept her the first couple of years of her life. I have posted pictures of her beautiful wedding. It was the most fun wedding I have ever been to. The reception included a DJ and dancing and I LOVE to dance. I had to drag Hubby's twin, then a nephew, and finally Hubby to the dance floor. None of them were thrilled about it, lol. My nephew, the brother of the bride, is the only one who came to me and asked me to dance. Did I say I LOVE to dance??????
It is a family joke that to punish my niece when she was little, I would stick her in an ant bed. She had been really bad one day while I was keeping her and her mother asked her if I had spanked her and she said, "No, she put me in an ant bed!"
I just about fell out of my chair. It is a good thing my SIL trusted me! Anyway, now it has become a longtime family joke. When my niece would misbehave, they would say, "You'd better behave, or Aunt Susie will come and put you in an antbed!"
They had a pic of my niece and her new husband at the wedding that had been made pre-wedding that we could all sign. I put the comment: If she is bad, Bobby, put her in an ant bed. It always worked for me!" ROFL.
The day after my niece's wedding, we had my daughter's 15th birthday party at my Mom's place on the lake. The kids got to go swimming, or paddle around in the paddle boat. We then had cake and ice cream and my Carebear opened her presents. It ended with a slumber party at our house for all of the young ladies who wished to stay. I think we had seven who stayed over. They all slept in my daughter's room. Guess it is a good thing she has the master bedroom, eh? ::wink:: We had 2-3 on our queen size air mattress, two in her double bed, one on a crash pad, one in her chair that folds out into a little bed, etc. It was lots of fun. Most of the young ladies were gone by noon the next day. My daughter's cousin and a close friend that came to the party and stayed the night went to see Pirates of the Carribean, At World's End. I won't spoil it for you in case you haven't seen it and want to, but I will say Captain Jack and Will were as sexy as ever. Ooooooh yeah!~ ::giggle::
My MIL was hospitalized that following Thursday after Memorial Day for two days. They ran tests and determined she had an enlarged liver and elevated LFT's, but they didn't know why. Her doc changed up her meds. I visited her today (she lives two doors down) and she looks so much better. Praise God for that! Thanks to everyone for the prayers and good thoughts concerning her. I continue to covet them for her. She has always been like a second Mom to me. I have actually been part of their family longer now than I lived with my own parents! She is having a CT angiogram tomorrow of her brain to check out her arteries. I have been trying to get her doctor to order this test since my Hubby's father passed away in October. Finally, he referred her to a neurologist. It just makes me so mad that he waited so long. I swear, it has gotten to the point, it seems, that you have to tell the doctors what to do anymore. I hope they can find out what is causing her dizziness and treat it accordingly. I love her very much and it is so hard to see her going down hill so, especially so soon after losing Dad.
A friend sent me pics of his trip in Italy today. I really enjoyed those. They are lovely. I have never been out of the states, so I enjoy seeing the world through the eyes (or should I say "lens") of others!~
Anyway, sorry it has been so long since I have posted. Been super busy Link for my friend, Tony B's, Italy photos.

It seems that hardly any of us are getting alerts! I have left a comment on Magic Smoke for the journals editors telling him, but it needs more to complain or we will not have them back for the weekend. The pictures are lovely. The bride looked stunning. Thank you for sharing these photos with us.

Very nice, Sue! Aren't weddings wonderful? Too bad you couldn't take any pictures in the famous Callaway Gardens-a friend of mine recently visited there,
and said they were lovely; I'll chk out those shot's of Italy-thanks for posting them for us; prayers for mom in law! yes, doctors sometimes must be told what to do!
~sigh~ it MIGHT a problem in her ears, if she's suffering frm veritgo, cause we
all have a bit of liquid in our ear, keeps our balance, you know. Let us know.
Those air mattress's are great, aren't they? They can go right in a closet and
be pulled out whenever needed, with not too much trouble-great invention! Have
a good weekend, Sue. ~Diane~
Hi Susan
Beautiful wedding.
