Dear Journal,
We had severe weather all around us today. My daughter called me to the door and asked me what that noise was. I said it was probably the music from the church next door. She was talking to a friend on the phone and could hear it through his phone as well. He lives in town where we live in the country, so there is no way it could have been noise from the church. It finally dawned on me it was the sirens warning of bad weather. I turned on the weather channel and there were tornadoes all around us. I jumped in my truck and drove the few miles to my son's trailer. I asked him to come to the house, but he elected not to. I just thank God we are all okay and it bypassed us. Other folks were not so lucky. Some areas had golf-size hail. It did damage to cars, even breaking the windows out on some. I just walked Mary Jane for the last time tonight. Stars are out now, thank goodness!
Since our son moved out of the basement, I now have a great place to work out. I have made it a family room/gym. It is my new favorite hangout. I have attached pics. The walls need painting and the floor needs covering, as it is just the concrete right now. Won't do any good to put any kind of floor covering until we get the flooding stopped.
I am ready for the Spring-like weather to return! Still have some reports to type before I turn in. ::sigh:: We are shorthanded, as my coworker, Sandra, is out because her husband is in the hospital. He has an infection and also just had to have his gallbladder removed. Please keep him in your prayers. There are so many needs out there tonite. God knows what they are. Joyce, I am praying for you in the loss of your Mom. I am praying for Jeannette (jeanno43) and Sugar. Please hang in there and know you are loved and being prayed for by many. Barb, I hope things are better for you. Amy, I hope you and family find the house of your dreams soon!~
Hugs and prayers to all, and especially our troops who put themselves in harms way for us every day!
Blessings!~
Susan

Wow, this weather thing is starting to freak me out, we were all in shorts this weekend as it was in the low 70's, that's just unheard of in the UK this time of year. They think it may hit 80 this weekend!
I have a question, before I read this entry, I saw your photos and new it was your basement. Then I saw a set of dark blue curtains, how come you have a window in your baseent? *me confused* We only have bsements in old houses here, not new ones.

Have a good day!!!
Linda :)
Glad you all survived the severe weather. We only had rain down here on vacation in Destin...and lots of it with wind.
Hi Susan!! Hope you had a nice Easter!! Love the pictures of your workout room!! It looks beautiful. I can't even tell there is no floor covering. I am looking forward to the day we get ours done. Right now it needs a bit more organizing and then maybe one day we can get our workout room down there and free up a lot of space in our family room. It's crowded up here. When the kids move out I get an office back and a dining room someday. I am ready for warm weather too. It's a bit chilly here this week but I am glad it's not 99 degrees. Hugs,
Lisa
There is a way for the basement to be made waterproof that costs a considerable investment but would be worth it not to have to worry about flooding. It looks like a really great recreational and family area. mark
