Dear Journal,
It was a perfect weekend, beautiful and sunny, so I will give you one guess as to where I spent it? That's right, in the yard, the WHOLE weekend! It looks so good. Still not done by far, but I sure put a dent in it. With this yard being on a slope, it makes it a little bit harder on me because of the faciitis issues in both of my feet, but I so enjoyed every single minute of it.
I cannot even begin to remember what all I have done. All I know is my hard work is paying off.
I raked the grass after it was cut and burned off all the limbs, grass, leaves, etc. I worked in the yard on Saturday until well after dark. I was so sore when I woke up on Sunday morning and I slept until 11:15!!!! Guess I wore myself out again. On Sunday, I took it a little easier and took more resting periods.
We grilled out on Sunday afternoon. We did barbecued chicken on the grill and my daughter did some green beans and mac and cheese on the stove. She made some sweeeeeet southern iced tea. It was all scrumptious! Hubby and I watched Extreme Home Makeover on the tube in the family room and Desperate Housewives.
I did some much needed laundry and we went to bed. I am still tired, lol. But.......it's a good tired, as much was accomplished!
That's all folks!~
Thanks, Amy, for the graphic!~

I love feeling tired like what you are referring to. Knowing that you are slap worn out after getting something accomplished is a wonderful feeling.

Glad you were able to get things accomplished and have a pretty good weekend. - BArbara
We just got a wonderful, earth soaking rain. Tomorrow I might attempt to turn the ground in the front yard so I can re-seed it with grass... gotta have grass if my grandbabies are to play in the yard! (still trying to get Gabe's girlfriend out here before the baby is born).
Wish I had your talent and drive in the yard but hey, I'll even be happy with clover or dandilions, anything green and soft for the little ones to play in.
You got alot done!! I'm glad you are getting out and enjoying nature....
Have a great week!!
Linda :)

Its a great weekend here too, no weed eater for me though, just sweeping the deck instead!
I am glad to see you watch my two favourite shows, Extreme Makeover and Desperate!
Gaz ;-)
Don't you just love a beautiful weekend. Good job on the weedeating. That does look like a good spot for an herb garden. Hubby has one about that size. He also does peppers and cherry tomatoes.
Have a good Sunday.

I loved seeing the work you did. We have bought a house with seven acres and a spring.
The previous owner had lined it with plastic held down by huge rocks. I have been removing all of that and to my delight I fell into the spring while balanced on a concrete block and throwing another one. I am trying to remove anything that is not natural such as bricks and blocks. It is full of water cress and though the water flows freely it still has algae in it. I am planing to line the bottom with a shallow layer of small river rock. All my life I have wanted to have a spring of my own. The water is so cool and refreshing. I want to have it tested to see if it might be drinkable.
I couldn't see some of the pictures you posted of your chicks.
I remember how they would get underneath the hen and she would cover them with her wings and you couldn't tell they were there. I love that verse in the bible where Jesus speaks of this.
Sorry about the chicken thing, that is a different journal.
