The Trip to The Royal Gorge!~

I just got 3-4 rolls of film developed.  I have scanned a few to include here in my journal.  This is more pics of the trip to the Royal Gorge in Canon City, CO (pronounced  canyon).  Some of these you have seen and some you may not have seen.  Some were in my journal previously until I deleted it.  There are some also of the beautiful park that was near our house when we lived in Broomfield.  I walked here most everyday with my dog, Mary Jane.  I still dream about living in that house 2-3 times a week.  I guess because it was a very happy time in my life.  I hope you enjoy the pics.  For more info on the Royal Gorge go to this link:

http://www.royalgorgebridge.com/

This was a fun day out.  The view around the gorge is awesome!  There is so much to do in the park.  You can ride the incline down into the bottom of the gorge.  You can ride the tram across the gorge.  They have a sling that is a lot like a rubber band, if you are brave enough, they will swing you out over the canyon.  I wasn't brave enough to do that!  I think I would have had a heart attack!  They have places you can eat, as well as an ice cream shop.  At the end of the day, we went into the gift shop and bought souvenirs.  It was a fun day and one I will treasure always.

Have a blessed week!~

Stay safe and keep warm!~

Weekend Assignment #148 Cats or Cheese?

Weekend Assignment #148: Cats. Cheese. There's only enough room on the planet for one of them -- and you have to decide which stays and which goes. Which do you choose and why?

****************************************************************

I would have to pick my cats over cheese if it came down to that.  Why you ask?

Simba   Look at that cute little face!~

Fonzie loves containers.  I was writing out bills and he crawled into the shoebox I keep them in and went to sleep.

Ain't he just too cute.  Fonzie in one of his favorite positions.

Prissie, our tortie.

I choose them because I love how they love to cuddle up next to me and purr.  Listening to them purr is like rain on a tin roof.  Very comforting.  They keep me company and keep me entertained with their antics when the rest of the family is out and I am alone.  Cheese cannot do all that.

EXTRA CREDIT:

I can't pick one favorite breed because I have two kinds of cats, so I would have to pick tabby and tortoiseshell. :-)

My favorite cheese is parmesan.  Gotta have it on my spaghetti and soups!!!!!!!!!!!

Blessings!~

Prayers for Pennie (Sandra)!~

We all know Pennie (Sandra) from her wonderful journal, A Pennie's Worth.  John just posted this entry:

http://journals.aol.com/blondepennierae/APenniesWorth/entries/2007/01/23/this-is-john/747

In case you don't have time to read it, Pennie was washing her hair this morning and suffered a brain aneurysm.  She is to have surgery in the morning and he is asking for prayers for Pennie.  We have seen what the power of prayer can do!  Let us lift up our sister Pennie in prayer right now!~

Thanks in advance!~

Blessings!~

Susan

for lack of anything better to do cuz I am bored.  Son is out visiting, daughter is in her room, and Hubby is asleep, so.....................You are it!!!!

I WANNA KNOW YOU...I want to know 26 things about you. I don't care if we never talk, never liked each other, or if we already know everything about each other, so let me know who I am friends with.

1. Can you cook?

Yes, I am a very good cook.

2. What would you do if you were stuck in an elevator?

That is probably not going to ever happen because I am quite claustrophobic and I always use the stairs, but if I were to get stuck, I would probably hyperventilate and pass out!!!!!!

3. What talent do you wish you had?

I wish I had the knack for knowing when to keep my big fat mouth SHUT!!!!!!!

4. Favorite place?

Anywhere in Colorado!~

5. Favorite vegetable?

Black-eyed peas in a bowl with mayonaise and cornbread all mixed up together (it's a suthern thang).  :-)

Biting my nails.

HERE COMES THE FUN ... ... ...

1. Do we know each other outside of LiveJournal?

Nope.

2. What's your philosophy on life?

Life is what you make it and a positive attitude will get you through the worst things, but most importantly, Don't live life without Jesus!~

3. Negative or Optimistic?

Mostly Optimistic.

4. What was your dream growing up?

If I remember correctly when I was younger, I wanted to be a teacher.  As I got older, I changed it to wanting to be an interior decorator.  I ended up a wife, and mother, and medical transcriptionist and would not have it any other way!~

5. Worst thing to ever happen to you?

Losing my brother to suicide when he was only 23 in 1999.

8. Would you have my back or kick me when I'm down?

I got your back!~

You are one of the most sane people I know.

13. Would you cry for me if I died?

Of course.

14. Would you be my crime partner or my conscience?

Mostly likely, your conscience, but would probably depend on the crime.  Hee........

15. If you could change anything about me, would you?

Nope, God doesn't make junk and He made you in His likeness.  I do not dare think I can do better than God!!!!!~

16. How do you fall asleep?

I just crawl in my bed, adjust my pillow, and lie there til I fall asleep.  Sometimes it comes quickly, sometimes not.  ::sigh::

17. Would you come over to yell at me or just call?

I don't like confrontations, I would most likely just let it go until the next time I ran into you and then would try to work it out.

18. Would you go on a blind date if I set you up?

I don't think my hubby would like that.  Hee........but, I am not one for blind dates even if I were single.  Didn't work too well in the past.

19. If I only had one day to live would you be honest or lie?

I would probably tell you the truth, but try to make it the best day of your life.

25. In one word, how would you describe me? Be honest....

Friendly.

26. Will you repost this so I can fill it out?

Sure, how 'bout I leave you a link to this entry in your journal.  I never could follow directions properly.  ::giggle::

Praise In Times of Trouble!~

"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.  Proverbs 3:5-6

******************************

Okay, God.  You know what is going on with Donnie's dream job and the stress he is under.  We feel you put Donnie where he is.  This job is a huge blessing, but if it is time for him to move on, we understand.  We are praising you for the opportunity he has had because if nothing else, he has learned a lot and learning is always good.  We are putting our trust in you because we know where you close one door, you always open another, and/or even a window.  AMEN.

**********************************************************

In my experience, blessings come quicker when we praise God even when times are bad.  We are to praise Him in all things, not just the good times.  It is easy to praise Him when things are going good, it is harder to praise Him when things are not so good, eh?

Have a blessed week!~

Susan

P.S. Please remember to say a prayer for our troops today who may be in harms way no matter where they may be.

Happy Belated Birthday to my Mom!~

My Mom and her cat, Cinder

My Mom's 64th birthday was on December 17th.  My cousin and her family, my sis and her boyfriend, and my hubby, daughter, and I went to my Mom's and put in a rock garden and rock walkway for her.  She loved it.  I am glad we did something that made her happy.  She so deserves it.  She is such a great Mom!  Things have kind of piled up on her lately.  She is having a rough time of it.  Please remember her in your prayers.  I would be so grateful.

On a sad note, we had a beautiful cat that had taken up at our house.  My daughter and I were quite attached to him and she named him Henry because she said he looked like he would belong to Royalty.  She named him after King Henry the VIII because of how he would attack our cat, Simba, when he was outside.  When Hubby and I went to get the insurance on the new truck, we saw him in the road.  He had been run over.  He was a beautiful cat and we will miss him terribly.  Simba, on the other hand, is probably quite glad because he can go back outside again and not have Henry around to fight with.  Rest in peace, Henry.  We will miss you!~

Happy New Year!~
