Pics from Florida Trip!~

We left home about 7:00 yesterday morning headed to Florida to pick up the truck we are buying from my nephew.  It was about a 3.5 hour trip.  We got messed up on a loop in Dothan, AL, but other than that, we got there just fine.

Our new acquistion~A Chevy Z71 Silverado

We first went through Eufaula.  I took some photos of Lake Eufaula, but they really aren't very good because I had to take them from a moving car.  For this reason, I am only posting one of them.  I also took photos of the beautiful homes on Eufaula's main drag from the car, so they are not as good either as I would have liked them to be.

After we picked up the truck (he lived about 45 minutes from Panana City), we went on to Panama City Beach, where we stopped at a Burger King and got food and had the great idea to have a picnic on the beach.  We learned real fast why you don't picnic on the beach,  you will too when you see the pics, although I am sure all of my friends who either live in Florida, or have lived in Florida, or even visited Florida probably know without looking at the pics, lol.

My baby girl said, "I could sooooooooo live in Florida!"

I thought to myself, yeah, it's nice on the beach today because it is December, living through the peak season one time and the hot climate would sure change your mind quickly!~

Anywho, we got the truck, went to the beach where we had a GREAT time.  None of us wanted to leave, but we were expecting bad weather to come through last night, so I wanted to get home.  If it did come through, I never heard it.  I feel asleep almost immediately after I laid down.  I was one tired woman!~

I have done some edits on some of these pics and will post them in my picture postcard journal as soon as I have time.  I will come back and post a link to it when I post them.

Hope you enjoy the pics and wish I could have taken you with me!

Happy New Year!~

Susan

I think that plant is a very large Agave at least it is the same family.  I know Victoriana is a very large species.  Glad you had a good trip.  Thank you for sharing the lovely photos and I wish you and yours a wonderful 2007.  Happy New Year.

Very nice pictures.  I love the beach too.  I'm only about 2 1/2 hours from the mighty Pacific.  Those seagulls are nasty...they'll not only take your food...they'll poop on your head.  Have a very happy new year...Linda in Washington

Am so glad you didnt run into bad weather Susan. The pics are wonderful, your daughter looks so happy on the beach. The large plant is definately an agave, there is one like it quite near to where I live. They grew wild in Algeria where I lived for 2 years.

Hope you and your family have a Happy New Year.

Blessings,  Cathy.  xxx

I enjoyed your pics and I love going to FL.  Have spent many a vacation on Panama Beach.  More recently in Destin though.  I want to go back so bad.  Maybe in 2007 but if not it'll be 2008.  We are trying to pay off some bills.

Looks like you had a great time in Florida with your daughter and her boyfriend.  68 degrees sounds very warm after my camping weekend in the low 40's at night.  In number 10, you say you like it but don't know why.  I'll help you out, you have a very strong leading line drawing you into the picture.  This is a compositional tool that is very useful in a picture.  It is a very nice picture.

It looks like your daughter and her boyfriend had a good time and you also.    I am sure it is nice to be in Florida when the tourists are not there and have the beach to yourselves.     Glad that you found a good truck.     mark
